Former Buffalo Bills’ Linebacker Ray Bentley will be appearing at the Albany Sports Card Show on April 16 and 17. The show is one of the longest running card shows in the country, operating for over 40 years. The event is at the Albany Ramada Plaza, 3 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, NY.
Bentley, a member of the Bills’ Super Bowl squads in 1990 & 1991 released his first novel, Driftwood, this past August after previously writing seven different children’s books. Other sports memorabilia will also be available including Ray’s Football Trading cards, 8×10 photos, mini helmets, and footballs. All autographs will be free at the event.
In lieu of charging for autographs, we will be collecting donations for the Tyler DeMarco Foundation, which helps fund cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Foundation also is helping to fund the creation of private hematology-oncology rooms specifically for pediatric cancer patients at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
Driftwood is the story of Buffalo Blizzard Linebacker, Jack Driftwood, and his last chance at pro football glory. The narrative follows the grizzled, old linebacker from training camp through Mega Bowl 50 played in Buffalo and gives an inside look at the machinations of professional football on the field and in the locker room. Off the field Driftwood’s eclectic collection of friends help him escape and bring the truth to light when the Blizzard’s General Manager plays rough in his efforts to steal the team and send Jack packing.
Admission to get into the show is just $2.00 for adults, and children under 12 are free. For more information on the show, visit www.anyshowpromotions.com or the Facebook page.
